Railsplitter is a four-piece indie / punk band from DC. Drawing upon influences like Leatherface, The Exploding Hearts, Husker Du and The Lemonheads, the band is equally enamored with loud guitars and strong hooks. Railsplitter consists of former members of Cataract Camp, The Remotes, The Burlies, Turbo Hero and Oubliette and features Christian Golden on guitar and lead vocals, Billy Maurer on drums and background vocals, Hampton Maher on bass and Drew Butler on guitar. The band formed in 2009 but took a two-year hiatus when Butler moved to New York in 2011, where he played bass with Travis Morrison’s Brooklyn-based side project, The Burlies. The band reunited in 2013 and are back with a new seven- song EP titled Somewhere on Earth.
